Pipe Bursting
A trenchless replacement approach for a suitable buried pipe route.
This replaces the pipe rather than coating it.
Pipe bursting uses a tool to break or displace an existing pipe while drawing a replacement along its route. It is a replacement technique, distinct from lining inside a retained host pipe. Access points are needed to carry out the work, and the existing material and site conditions affect suitability. The term does not promise that a damaged section can be replaced without any excavation.
The route and nearby infrastructure matter.
The position of utilities, structures, connections and access openings needs consideration before a bursting plan is selected. The goal is not simply to pull a larger pipe through any route. Ask about what section is proposed, which connections are involved and how suitability is confirmed. A general method description is not a diagnosis for the buried line at your property.
Make the replacement scope clear.
Discuss the replacement material, access locations, temporary service interruptions and restoration of disturbed areas. Compare a bursting proposal with other options based on the identified condition and the work included, not just the name of the technique. No fixed completion time, price or universal “no-dig” guarantee is offered. Call to describe the line problem and confirm the information needed for an assessment.
A useful first conversation
Tell us your city or neighborhood, what has changed and which fixtures or part of the system are involved. Mention an active leak or backup at the start. For planned work, share available layout and product information. Confirm coverage, availability and the proposed scope directly; a request does not establish an appointment or a price.

Does the old pipe remain as the finished interior?
This method installs a replacement pipe; it is not an interior coating of the old pipe.
Will access pits be needed?
Access work is normally part of the planning. Confirm the actual entry, exit and restoration requirements.
